Standard/ Intermediate First Aid / CPR / AED
Course Overview
This course prepares participants to respond confidently and effectively to medical emergencies in the workplace. Training focuses on practical skills, realistic scenarios, and clear decision-making, ensuring participants are prepared to act until professional help arrives.
Certification
- Standard First Aid / CPR / AED Certificate
- Valid for three (3) years
- Includes wallet card issued upon successful completion
- Certification is issued after successful completion/demonstration of practical skills and written evaluation
Recertification
Standard First Aid recertification is available to participants who hold a valid Standard First Aid certification issued by Workplace Medical Corp. Under regulatory requirements, WMC may only recertify participants originally certified through WMC. Individuals certified by another provider must complete the full Standard First Aid course.

Duration:
This course is offered in two formats. Both deliver the same content and lead to the same certification.
- In-Class (onsite/ public)
• 2 days in-person
• 14–16 hours total - Blended (Hybrid)
• Self-paced online learning: 7-8 hours
• In-person skills session: 1 day (7–8 hours)
• 14–16 hours total
The blended option completes theory online and skills in person, reducing classroom time while maintaining full certification requirements.
Delivery Options:

- Blended model for employers (theory online, skills in-class)
- Through scheduled public sessions.

Participants receive hands-on training covering a wide range of medical and emergency response situations, including:
- Emergency response approach and priorities
- Medical and legal considerations
- Communicable diseases
- Adult / child / infant CPR (Level C)
- AED use and awareness
- Heart attack and stroke
- Choking (conscious and unconscious)
- Shock
- Wounds and bleeding
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Head and spinal emergencies
- Burns
- Respiratory emergencies
- Seizures
- Diabetic emergencies
- Poisoning
- Triage principles
- Eye injuries
Training Method
Instruction combines:
- Practical skill stations
- Scenario-based exercises
- Instructor-led discussion
- Written evaluation
Training emphasizes confidence, correct technique, and the ability to respond effectively in real-world situations.

- WMC First Aid / CPR Manual
- Certification card upon successful completion
A digital or physical manual may be provided depending on delivery format.
