Working at Heights Refresher Training (CPO Approved)

Course Overview

Working at Heights Refresher Training is a half-day, Chief Prevention Officer (CPO)–approved program required for workers who have previously completed the full Working at Heights Training. Refresher training must be completed every three (3) years to maintain certification and remain compliant.

The course reinforces critical fall protection concepts, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices for construction environments where work is performed at height. Workplace Medical Corp. is an OWWCO Director–approved provider authorized to certify participants with a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) value of 0.3.

4 hours

Delivery Options:

Onsite delivery for employers (where appropriate)
Scheduled public sessions.

Training Method

Instruction includes:

Instructor-led review
Practical discussion and scenario-based learning
Program evaluation

The refresher is designed to reinforce safe work behaviours and regulatory awareness without repeating full initial training.

Course Content

Participants receive instruction covering both theory and practical application, including:

Fall-related injury statistics and MLTSD reports
Rights and responsibilities of employers and workers
Eliminating or controlling fall hazards
Hazard identification / risk assessment
Warning procedures and physical barriers
Ladders and similar access equipment
Fall protection equipment and systems
Barriers, fixed equipment, and anchor points
Platforms and work access equipment
Rescue planning
Theory test (minimum 75% pass required)

Certification

Working at Heights Refresher Certificate
Renews Working at Heights certification for three (3) years
Certification is issued upon successful completion of training and evaluation

Who Is Required to Take Refresher Training?

Any worker in the construction industry must complete CPO-approved refresher training every three years if they:

Works at 3 meters (10 feet) or higher, and
Has previously completed Working at Heights Training
