Automated External Defibrillators (AED) are becoming a standard part of first response equipment at public venues. It is the most effective way to provide emergency response to cardiac attack victims. Every minute waiting for an AED decreases the likelihood of resuscitation by 10 per cent.
Active Canadian offers a complete turnkey program for sales, training and data management for the new AED. Among our key clients are Manulife, General Motors and the City of Ottawa, who has the nation’s largest Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) program and who has awarded us its exclusive AED training contract. We are the first certified AED training provider, and also the largest in Canada, training over 1,700 participants every year.
Active Canadian’s AED solution encompasses three key components:
- Equipment: AED and related equipment must be available, operable, and accessible.
- Training: Effective responders need initial, recertification and refresher courses to maintain their confidence to react in an emergency.
- Support: Our Active Administrative Support Program (AASP) includes a broad range of services including:
- Administrative support to monitor equipment (i.e. battery electrode expiry notice)
- Electronic notices when recertification or refreshers are due
- On-line learning to maintain skills and confidence
- Critical incident stress debriefing with your staff
