Workplace Medical Corp. traces its primary care roots back 50 years, when Dr. Franklyn Shapiro set up his family practice in his parent's home in the industrial north end of Hamilton, Ontario. That practice is now the largest, private integrated medical centre in Hamilton occupying a modern 22,000 sq. ft. facility with 6 full-time family physicians and 8 resident specialists in areas such as, orthopedics, obstetrics and pediatrics - and easy access to other specialists.
Our occupational health services date back to the early 1960s when Dr. Shapiro responded to the needs of small employers in the neighborhood for a “company doctor”. Workplace Medical Corp. has been a leader in occupational health ever since - first serving small firms with less than 50 employees, and then, by increasing its scope and reach over the years, serving larger firms with over 1,000 employees.
With occupational health medicine on demand, Workplace Medical Corp. acquired the Evans clinic in Toronto in 1996. The Clinic specializes solely in occupational health and is now used by over 1,000 companies.
We have experienced substantial growth through addition of key personnel, expansion of our client base, creation of new services, investment in new technology and highly synergistic acquisitions. |
