Automated External Defibrillator training is a key part of occupational health
Every year in Canada, about 35,000 to 40,000 people experience a sudden cardiac arrest. When it happens outside of a hospital setting, less than 5% of patients survive.
Defibrillation is the only effective treatment for cardiac arrest. Economical, easy-to-use Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) have become an essential component of many organizations’ first aid kit. But lifesaving intervention depends on thorough and effective AED training. It requires communications planning, connection with base hospitals and integration with your organization’s emergency response strategy.
Active Canadian provides you with unparalleled AED experience. We were the first to develop and offer an approved AED program, and we have trained more people on AEDs than any other training provider.
A leader in AED training
Our AED program was designed from the ground up to cover your AED learning needs now and into the future.
Our program includes an initial assessment of your site and organizational needs, a roll-out of realistic scenarios and plenty of hands-on practice. And we provide recertification and refresher courses so that rescuers can maintain their confidence to react in an emergency.
Unlike some training providers, Active Canadian employs a medical director to ensure our instruction meets quality standards. After any AED event, our medical director follows up to ensure continuous improvement.
We even operate a life-saving awards program because we believe in recognizing your heroes and supporting their efforts.
Support that never quits
Our Extended Solutions Program (ESP) covers a broad range of services including:
- Support to monitor equipment i.e. battery electrode expiry
- Electronic notices when recertification or refreshers are due
- On-line learning to maintain skills and confidence, including the mandatory 90-day refresher course
- Critical incident stress debriefing with your staff
