Focused emergency training for a more effective response
In 2001, Active Canadian (a wholly owned WMC company) developed the Industrial First Responder program on the "less is better" principle. The concept is based on the idea that in an emergency, it is far better for your organization to have a select group of people who are thoroughly well trained and competent at managing an emergency scene than it is to have many people who are moderately trained. Most of the moderately trained employees lack the confidence to take charge.
The well-trained employees must represent all parts of the organization to ensure your organization is adequately prepared. They must also easily accessible and orderly in case of an emergency to ensure timely actions. Active Canadian can help you develop and implement an emergency response procedure with your on-staff responders, so they can systemically take charge of the situation with proper equipment, clear objectives and competent skills.
